Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Courtroom

Renovation and rehabilitation of an existing building to be converted into the offices and courtroom of Victoria County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2. The project greatly expanded the capabilities of the Justice of the Peace to conduct legal proceedings having previously held offices and court in a lease space of less than 500 sq. ft. The facility has a courtroom that seats up to 49 occupants allowing versatility in the types of hearings previously not capable of with the previous facilities. Also, expanding the use of the facility is a multipurpose space used for jury deliberation and a conference room.

RMA’s in-house interior designer and project manager worked in-concert with Victoria County to produce a court room project that strayed from conventional design of stained woods and conservative paint schemes. The design respects traditional values while stepping forward with a modern expression of color and textures that excites and brings life to the space.
