Cuero Community Hospital Entry
The Cuero Community Hospital has served the City of Cuero for over forty years, continuously growing and updating its facilities to accommodate ever-developing medical technology. As the hospital added departments such as the Belle Terry Elder Women's Center, also designed by RMA, the board recognized the need to update its main entry, expand its gift shop and provide a prayer chapel. RMA designed a new modern arched drop off that accentuates the entrance and complements the existing brick facade. The expanded Wishing Well Gift Shop is conveniently accessed right off the entry, inviting both patrons of the hospital and other community members into the store. Directly across from the shop is the Hamilton-Wallis Chapel, which conveys a sense of repose with its clean lines, warm wood accents and soft lighting, while its series of handcrafted stained glass windows celebrate healing and new life with scenes from the four seasons.

The Chapel of the Resurrection
In 2008, St. Francis Episcopal Church of Victoria, Texas, commissioned a new chapel for prayer and meditation to be located within their existing building. The chapel was a renovation of an underutilized long and narrow room, small enough for intimate prayer, yet able to support modest services. RMA worked closely with the client, utilizing the chapels unique form to develop a place of retreat that is both functional and artfully composed. The meticulous attention to detail and use of natural materials and delicate lighting create a distinctive place of unequaled serenity.
Emerging Technology Complex
The Emerging Technology Complex is a dynamic multiuse facility composed of two buildings: the Conference and Education Center and the Industrial Training Center. The complex features a state-of-the-art conference center with versatile meeting spaces that accommodates conferences and conventions of all sizes. The training center prepares students for careers in local manufacturing and technical industries. The Conference and Education Center is a three story 72,000 square foot facility that is the show piece of the complex. It is one of only 140 facilities in the country to be certified by the International Association of Conference Centres. The Meeting Hall can accommodate up to 400 people with the ability to be divided into smaller rooms allowing for multiple events to take place simultaneously. It is surrounded by smaller conference and meeting rooms on both the first and second floors, each with state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities. A marquee meeting room over the lobby is designed as a transparent cube that floats over the main front doors to provide a visually compelling feature that defines the main entrance. The third level contains classrooms and computer labs and houses Victoria College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Programs. The Industrial Training Center is a two story 44,000 square foot facility dedicated to training students in industrial trades for multiple local industries. The first level features six large, open training bays where students receive hands-on instruction in specific trades. The bays have an open plan with flexible utilities that can be easily reconfigured to the specific requirements of an individual trade. Translucent ribbon windows provide diffuse natural light throughout the space. The second level contains classrooms that work in conjunction with the training bays. Each classroom overlooks its associated training bay allowing for observation by students of the hands-on training taking place below.
